It is my pleasure to welcome visitors to our annual Hidden Treasures Bloom Festival in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.
With the realisation that what we as 'locals' knew and loved, could be of interest to the wider community and travellers, the Hidden Treasures of the Great Southern was born. As the name suggests, within our eight Shires, we have a wealth of 'hidden treasures' just waiting for you to discover and enjoy.
Spring paints our landscape in yellow and green as the crops and pasture look their very best and a short stop along the way will reveal many 'hidden treasures' including patches of wildflowers, natural scenery and photo opportunities.
Our festival 'events' and activities introduce visitors to the wonders of the Great Southern including our magnificent wildflowers, natural attractions such as the Stirling Range, Fitzgerald and Porongurup National Parks, award winning wines and locally grown foods, open gardens in full bloom, train rides and whale-watching along the coast.
There is something for everyone so take the time to seek out those other treasures including local cafes, war memorials, heritage buildings, museums in each town and much more.
The enthusiasm which all our partners and exhibitors bring to this Festival each year ensures that it will continue to 'grow and blossom' as a major attraction for the Great Southern region and I welcome you to visit the Hidden Treasures Bloom Festival.
