JANUARY
Harvest of grain crops

MARCH
Wine grape harvest begins, through to May

Bremer Bay Classic Fishing Competition, March long weekend - a chance to get your line wet, either on or off-shore. Great prizes.

Pingrup Picnic Races and Root Festival - date to be advised - bush horse races, with lots of fun.

Katanning Multicultural Festival - in the main street of the second most multicultural town in WA and free entertainment galore.

 

APRIL
Preparation for sowing of grain crops

Anzac Day, 25th April - ceremonies at Katanning (RSL Street March), Broomehill, Nyabing, Pingrup, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Tambellup and Woodanilling.

MAY
Lambing of merino sheep usually begins

 

JUNE
Wine grape vines being pruned

Sometimes snow on the Stirling Ranges!

The bright yellow crops in the paddocks are Canola (a type of rapeseed)

Katanning Sheep Sales - every Wednesday, 8.30 am Katanning Sheep Saleyards echo with the auctioner's yell and the hustle and bustle of a busy regional selling complex. Visitors welcome, breakfast and viewing platform available.

Farmers Markets - third Saturday every month, Katanning Leisure Centre.

Exhibitions at the Katanning Art Gallery - over 20 exhibitions per year. Ph 9821 4310.
